Introduction
Small Industries Service Institute, New Delhi with its jurisdiction of Union Territory of Delhi, District Faridabad in Haryana and Ghaziabad of U.P. including NOIDA, caters to the needs of existing small scale units and prospective entrepreneurs with an objective to strengthen and develop small scale industries. Besides, it provide common facilities including training, imparted to the delinquent children at its Extension Centre, Bal Sahyog, located at Connaught Place, New Delhi.
Workshop and Laboratories Services
The Institute has 5 comon facility workshops, which earned total revenue of Rs 7,84,318 by completing 207 job orders and provided skill development training to 345 trainees. In total 216 industrial units were benefitted from the common facility services at SISI, New Delhi.
Balsahyog Extension Centre (BEC)situated at Connaught Place, New Delhi has 9 workshops in different trades.BEC earned revenue of Rs 3,36,000/- by completing 230 job orders and imparted training to 271 trainees including trainees of Balsahyog Home, New Delhi.
Technical Schemes, Blue prints/drawing etc. Prepared and Supplied
The Institute had prepared 54 project profiles on different items, which include General Engineering, Chemical,Hosiery, Leather, Glass & Ceramics, Electrical and Mechanical duringthe year 2000-01 under Action Plan Targets.
Consultancy Services Provided
The Institute and its extension centre continued to provide consultancy services to small scale industrial entrepreneurs in different fields and at different levels. Some of the important areas of consultancy services provided by the Institute during the year 1998-99 are as under:

Training and Seminars
The details of the total number of training programmes conducted and trainees trained in 2000-01 are as follows:
Management Development Programme(MDP)
This Institute organised and conducted 10 Management Development Programmes during the year. The specialised courses were 3 Marketing Management, 4 Export Management and three courses on Computer Training on MSOffice2000. In all these training programmes, 239 participants have successfully undergone the training. The Institute earned a total revenue of Rs.2,86,750/-.
Entrepreneurship Development Programmes(EDP)
The Institute organised 13 EDPs. In all 424 persons were trained, a total revenue of Rs 8,76,500 was collected as course fee.
Economic Information, Statistical Services
The Economic Investigation Division(EI) of the Institute disseminated economic information and guided theexisting as well as prospective entrepreneurs on various projects in thearea of investment, policy matter, techniques of compiling and disseminationof statistical data.
During the year 2000-01 the Division attended 504 number of marketing/ economic enquiries from prospective entrepreneurs and prepared 4 techno-economic feasibility report receivedthrough banks. A revenue of Rs 40,000/- was earned by way of the charges for techno-economic feasibility reports.

Energy Conservation
The Institute continued had conducted energy Audit in respect of M/s Vinyl's chemicals, for energy and monetary savings by using suitable techno-economic measures.
Quality Control and Upgradation
SISI, New Delhi organised 7 days (full time) Training Programme on ISO-9000 quality Management System and TQM which was attended by 4 participants of very high profile top management people. Thus, generated revenue of Rs 90,000/-.
Special Assistance to Women/SC/STand Weaker Sections
290 SC/ST candidates, 247 women, 31 BCs, physically handicapped and defence personnel were trained in EDP/ Management / Skill Development Training courses.
